Scott Andrew Sinclair (born March 25, 1989) is an English professional footballer who currently plays for EFL League One club Bristol Rovers. He plays as a winger and has represented England internationally at youth levels. In the 2012 Summer Olympics, he played for the Great Britain team.

Scott Andrew Sinclair was born on March 25, 1989, in a private health facility in Bath, Somerset. He spent his formative years residing in Somerset and is a British citizen by birth. He attended Ralph Allen School for his secondary education.

As a child and teenager, Scott Sinclair supported Manchester United. He commenced his pre-professional football career with Bath Arsenal. At the age of nine, Sinclair joined Bristol Rovers, where he played as a winger. In 2004, he debuted for Bristol Rovers’ first team at the age of fifteen, becoming the second-youngest first-team debutant after Ronnie Rix.

Career

Scott Sinclair appeared in two games for Bristol Rovers before joining Chelsea in July 2005. He debuted for the club as a substitute in the 2007 League Cup Semi-Final against Wycombe Wanderers.

He scored his first goal for Chelsea in September 2007 against Hull City, helping the club achieve a 4-0 win. In 2007, he was loaned to Plymouth Argyle, appearing in 15 games for the club. That same year, he joined Queens Park Rangers, appearing in 9 games and scoring 1 goal.

Sinclair found significant success at Swansea City, helping the club achieve promotion to the Premier League in the 2010-2011 season. His performance at Swansea earned him a move to Manchester City in 2012. However, his time at Manchester City was less impactful, leading to loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa before making a permanent move to Aston Villa in 2015.

In 2016, Sinclair joined Celtic, where he enjoyed a highly successful period, winning multiple Scottish Premiership titles and domestic cups. He was named the PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year for the 2016-2017 season. After his stint at Celtic, Sinclair moved to Preston North End in 2020.
