King Von was released from jail in December 2017 and was signed to Lil Durk‘s Only the Family label. Von then released a series of singles, starting with “Beat Dat Body,” featuring THF Zoo in June 2018. He also appeared on Lil Durk‘s “Only The Family Involved” album that July.
Over the next several months, Von continued to build momentum with singles like “War With Us,” and his breakout hit “Crazy Story,” which reached #81 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2018. He also collaborated with other Chicago rappers like Memo600 and FBG Duck.
In 2019, Von’s career took off further. He released the sequel “Crazy Story 2.0” with Lil Durk and other singles like “What It’s Like.” In September 2019, he dropped his debut mixtape, “Grandson, Vol. 1,” which included many of his early hits.
