Early Life And Education

Aditya Roy Kapur was born on November 16, 1985, in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India. He is the son of Kumud Roy Kapur, who is of Punjabi Hindu descent, and Salome Aaron, of Jewish descent. Kapur was raised practicing Hinduism as his religion.

Kapur is the youngest of three siblings. His older brothers are Siddharth Roy Kapur, the former CEO of UTV Motion Pictures, and Kunaal Roy Kapur, an actor.

For his schooling, Kapur attended G.D. Somani Memorial School in Cuffe Parade, where both his siblings had also studied. His mother directed school plays there. Kapur later enrolled in St. Xavier’s College for Class 11, but failed and had to enroll in St. Andrew’s College to avoid losing a year.
