Sonu Sood is an Indian actor and humanitarian who was born on July 30, 1973, in Moga, Punjab, India. He was born to his parents Shakti Sood and Saroj Sood, and has two siblings named Malvika Sood and Monika Sood.
Sonu Sood was educated at Sacred Heart School in Moga, Punjab, and later obtained a B.Tech degree in Electronics Engineering from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE) in Nagpur. He is of Punjabi descent and practices Hinduism as his religion.

Sood began his acting journey in 1999 with his first two Tamil-language films, “Kallazhagar” and “Nenjinile.” In the early 2000s, Sood continued to expand his repertoire, making his debut in the Telugu film “Hands Up!” in 2000, followed by his appearance in “Majunu” the following year. It was in 2002 that Sood made his foray into Hindi cinema, playing the role of Bhagat Singh in the film Shaheed-E-Azam.
