Ranvir Shorey was born on August 18, 1972, in Jalandhar, Punjab, India, to Bollywood producer Krishan Dev Shorey and his mother, whose name remains unknown.

He has a brother named Lokesh Shorey. Ranvir completed his early schooling at Dayanand Model Sr. Secondary School in Jalandhar before relocating to Mumbai for further education.

Initially, he pursued studies in science and commerce but later switched to arts in college. He eventually obtained a diploma in film studies, which laid the foundation for his career in the entertainment industry. Shorey is of Indian ethnicity and identifies as a Hindu.

Ranvir Shorey, an Indian actor, married actress Konkona Sen Sharma on September 3, 2010. They had a son, Haroon, born in March 2011. However, the couple separated in 2015 and finalized their divorce in 2020.

Despite this, they maintain a cordial relationship to co-parent their son. Before his marriage to Konkona, Ranvir dated actress Pooja Bhatt. As of now, he is reportedly single.
