Aisling Clíodhnadh O’Sullivan, professionally known as Aisling Bea, was born on March 16, 1984, in Kildare, County Kildare, Ireland. She is the daughter of Brian O’Sullivan, a horse veterinarian who tragically passed away by suicide when she was just three years old, and Helen O’Sullivan (née Moloney), a secondary school teacher and former jockey.

Bea has a younger sister named Sinéad. She attended Presentation Secondary School in Kildare Town before pursuing higher education. She studied French and Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin, where she was also involved in a student comedy group.

After graduating from Trinity College in 2006, Bea furthered her training by enrolling at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), completing a two-year course in 2008.
