Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, provided a detailed testimony about the final moments of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, during a Coroner’s Court hearing in Ikorodu, Lagos, on March 16, 2025.

Ogedengbe recounted that on September 12, 2024, she was called by Ayobami Sodiq, a friend of the singer known as Spending, to treat Mohbad at his residence in Lekki. Arriving at approximately 2:30 p.m., she observed a swollen cut on his right hand and proceeded to administer a tetanus shot to his upper arm.

Considering Mohbad’s medical history of ulcers, she opted for paracetamol instead of diclofenac for pain relief. She then injected a diluted 4ml dose of paracetamol, followed by a slow 10ml administration of ceftriaxone to address a suspected infection.

According to Ogedengbe, Mohbad reacted adversely to the ceftriaxone injection, experiencing vomiting and developing goosebumps shortly after. Alarmed, she immediately informed his wife, Omowunmi Aloba, who reportedly reassured her that such reactions were normal for the singer when receiving injections.

Ogedengbe’s testimony is part of an ongoing inquest into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, which has drawn widespread public attention. The Coroner’s Court continues to investigate the events leading up to his passing, with further proceedings expected as the court works to determine the cause of death and any contributing factors.
