She is the daughter of Thangam Bhavani Shankar and Bhavani Shankar and has a sibling named Shiv Shankar.

Priya completed her high school education at SBOA Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai before earning a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology.
