Early Life
Carmit Bachar was birth in Los Angeles, California, United States, on September 4, 1974.
She is of mixed Israeli, Indonesian, Dutch, and Chinese descent. She was raised in Encino, California.
Her father is of Jewish Israeli descent, while her mother is of Dutch, Indonesian, and Chinese descent.
Both her parents were dancers; Carmit Bachar‘s father worked with Marcel Marceau and Elvis Presley, while her mother, Dina Van Minnen was a dance teacher at international Bancroft Middle School of Performing Arts.
Carmit Bachar was born with a cleft palate and cleft lip and underwent several operations from the age of six months till she was 18 to correct the defect. Finally, when she was 18, she did her final process, which was a major one. A bone was taken from her head to build a bridge in her nose which came out successfully.
Before the operation, Carmit Bachar suffered bullying from her classmates for her defect, and several agents rejected her and advised her not to pursue a career in entertainment. However, she was able to achieve her dreams of becoming a singer after the operation.
She even competed internationally as a rhythmic gymnast for ten years and came 5th in the U.S. Olympic trials in 1992.

Carmit Bachar joined The Pussycat Dolls in the years 1995. The group is an American all-girl dance and burlesque troupe formed by choreographer Robin Antin in Los Angeles.
In 2003, the group successfully signed a record deal with Interscope Geffen A&M Records, converting the group into a music franchise, and Carmit Bachar became the first to be signed into the recording group.
She was one of the three lead vocalists in the group and played lead parts in the singles for their successful debut album PCD—Beep, Buttons, I Don’t Need a Man, and Hot Stuff (I Want You Back).
Released on 12 September 2005, the album examined the themes of feminism and romance while incorporating sexual innuendo in its lyrics. In late 2006 and early 2007, she toured with the group to promote the album, recording commercial success.
