Biography

Vory (born August 17, 1997, previously King Vory) is a talented American rapper, songwriter, singer, and musician who was born Tavoris Javon Hollins Jr.

In addition to his numerous solo releases, including the EP Lucky Me in 2018 and the single You Got It in 2019, he also received a Grammy for contributing to The Carters‘ (Jay-Z and Beyoncé) song Everything Is Love

Vory was awarded another Grammy for contributing to Kanye West‘s album Donda in 2021. He is associated with Capitol Records, Electric Feel Entertainment, and rapper Meek Mill‘s record company Dream Chasers Records.

Early Life & Education

Vory was born and reared in Houston, Texas, United States, on August 17, 1997. Then, at the age of 16, he went to Louisville, Kentucky, to live with his father. 

While there, he met musician and Louisville native Bryson Tiller and started working with him. 

Vory‘s previous record label affiliations included Derrick Washington, Sean Bowens, Latasha Harrison, all of Louisville, and FPR Music Group.

Career

At the beginning of his career, Vory worked as a lyricist for American rappers Drake, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z, among others. In the end, Hollins received a Grammy for the lyrics he wrote for The Carters’ song Everything Is Love.

The first time the music business paid attention to Vory was in 2015, when he appeared on Bryson Tiller‘s song Break Bread using the stage name King Vory. Additionally, he co-wrote Bryson Tiller‘s Don’t, which was included on Bryson Tiller‘s debut studio album Trapsoul and peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. 

In 2016, Vory started putting out music on his own, releasing songs including Overdose and My Life A Movie, which featured Blu and were made by Dun Deal. FPR Music Group later released his debut mixtape, Overdose, in July 2016.

Later in the year, he relocated to Los Angeles and began developing his present sound there. Boi-1da, a Canadian record producer, was someone he met and eventually worked with on several tunes. He continued to release singles in 2017, among them Try, Do That Shit, and Hold of Me. Zane Lowe gave the latter song its radio debut on Beats 1 Radio. 

Vory received writing credits for several songs in 2018, including Canadian rapper Drake‘s Mob Ties from his fifth studio album Scorpion and American duo The CartersFriends from their collaborative studio album, Everything Is Love. The latter song would go on to win a Grammy for his contribution to it.

Vory released his debut EP, Lucky Me, in August 2018 after signing with Capitol Records and Electric Feel Management. On March 22, 2019, Rich the Kid‘s second studio album, The World Is Yours 2, was published, and on the same day, Vory released a new single titled You Got It, which he co-wrote and was featured in.

He joined DreamChasers in June 2020 and put out an EP called Vory with the same name.

Vory made an appearance on the songs God Breathed, Jonah, and No Child Left Behind on Kanye West‘s ninth studio album, Donda.

He showcased his skills on a drill track in April 2022 and collaborated with American rapper, Meek Mill on American Dream and on the song Changed On Me from Brooklyn-born rapper Fivio Foreign‘s debut album, B.I.B.L.E.

Vory‘s debut album, Lost Souls, including Kanye West, was released in June 2022.

Many of Vory‘s admirers want to know if the rapper is dating anybody special as he works to become a well-known rapper. But it appears that the rapper is currently alone and without a romantic interest.
