Biography

Caroline King (born July 24, 1963), addressed as Carol King, is a Nollywood veteran. She is a Nigerian actress, thespian, and presenter. She became a household name in the entertainment industry because of her role as Jumoke in the TV drama Everyday People. 

She has appeared in several TV, web, and feature films. She played the recurring role of Mrs. Macaulay in the Ndani web series Skinny Girl In Transit (SGIT) seasons 4 and 5. 

In 2022, Carol King was cast to play the role of Principal Gemade in the Netflix Original Drama series Far From Home.

Early Life

Carol King was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. King in old Western Nigeria. She was raised in Lagos and lived in a middle-class neighbourhood in Mainland Lagos. She was born in a public-run hospital in Lagos. 

Although born and bred in southwest Nigeria, Caro King is from the south-south geopolitical zone. She is an indigene of Edo State.

Carol King speaks English and Pidgin fluently. Her parents raised her in the Christian faith and attended an Anglican Church during her childhood and teenage years. 

Education

Because of her middle-class upbringing, Carol King received a quality education. She attended St. Soweto Primary School in Lagos to get elementary education. She is an alumnus of Awori Anglican Comprehensive High School Lagos, where she received secondary education. 

Carol King bagged a Diploma in Insurance from Ahmadu Bello University. After that, she secured a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Religious Studies at Lagos State University. 

Career

After graduating from the university, Carol King joined the media industry by securing a job as a presenter. She worked as a radio presenter with a leading radio station in Lagos. Her journey into the acting industry began after she attended an audition for a radio drama titled I Need To Know. 

She was cast in the radio drama, where she delivered an excellent performance. Carol King‘s success in the radio drama paved the way for her to be cast in a lead role in the television series Everyday People. She played the character Jumoke in the drama series, acting alongside Sam Loco Efe, Nobert Young, and Olumide Oworu. 

Besides her work in television, Carol King has also appeared in many feature films and web series. She is an accomplished thespian and has acted in several stage plays. Notable films she has appeared in are The Gods Are Not To Blame, Tinsel, A Naija Christmas, North East, Journey To Self, For Colored Girls, Dazzling Mirage, Pasito Dehinde, The Wives, Prison Chronicles, Five Maidens Of Fadaka, Ajayi Crowther, and V-Monologues, amongst others. 

Carol King played the character of Mrs. Macaulay – Mide Macaulay‘s mother – in the Ndani TV web series Skinny Girl In Transit (SGIT). In 2022, she was cast to play the role of Principal Gemade in the Netflix Original drama series Far From Home.
