Judge Set to Expose Names in Jeffrey Epstein-Ghislaine Maxwell Conspiracy

A New York judge is set to unveil the identities of nearly 200 individuals connected to the Jeffrey Epstein-Ghislaine Maxwell sex trafficking conspiracy. This revelation could happen as early as Tuesday, following the expiration of the objections deadline for unsealing the names, which passed at midnight on Monday.

The list is expected to expose or confirm the identities of dozens of associates of the disgraced financier, Jeffrey Epstein, and his alleged accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell. Until now, these individuals have been referred to as John and Jane Does in court papers related to a defamation claim filed by victim Virginia Giuffre against Maxwell in 2015.

Giuffre‘s lawsuit, resulting in legal depositions, produced the names set to be released and triggered a series of civil lawsuits. One of these actions involved Giuffre‘s case against Britain’s Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, for “sexual assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress,” settled out of court for a reported $12 million.

While there are expectations that the release of these names might lead to criminal charges, it is crucial to note that Epstein died by suicide in 2019, and federal prosecutors considered their work done after Maxwell‘s conviction in December 2021.

Despite this, disclosing names from the ageing defamation suit will likely cause embarrassment to high-profile figures. The list is anticipated to include individuals already publicly known as associates or employees of Epstein and Maxwell and those who had flown on Epstein‘s planes. Also, the names of the alleged victims taken to various properties may be revealed.

The focus will undoubtedly be on the John Does, with speculation suggesting that the list might include a former US president, actors, academics, and Britain’s Prince Andrew.

According to ABC News, “Jane Doe 162,” a witness who testified she was 17 when with Prince AndrewMaxwell, and Giuffre at Epstein’s New York mansion, might be among those named. Former US president Bill Clinton, identified as “Doe 36,” is mentioned in redacted filings, though Giuffre made no allegations of wrongdoing against him.

While releasing these names may provide a closer look at Epstein and Maxwell‘s interactions, particularly after Epstein‘s conviction, the broader focus is on Epstein‘s post-conviction behaviour and his continued efforts to build influential connections.

Epstein‘s scheduling diaries, disclosed during lawsuits, revealed names such as the director of the CIA, William J. Burns, and former White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler, alongside figures like Noam ChomskyBill GatesWoody Allen, and others.

As the public awaits the disclosure, the ramifications of this release could extend beyond legal consequences, shedding light on the network of individuals associated with the Epstein-Maxwell scandal.
