Árpád Zsolt Mészáros was born on March 23, 1974, in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. He was born and raised by his parents whose names are Árpád and Katalin Mészáros, his father was a car mechanic and racing driver, and in the 1970s he also won the Hungarian rally championship. He has one sibling, a sister named Andrea. Initially, he pursued a career in sports and attended a vocational school for machine engineering.

However, he later transitioned to acting, studying under Zoltán Megyeri and Frigyes Bárány at the Móricz Zsigmond Theatre. In 2000, he obtained his acting diploma from the University of Arts and the Ministry of Culture. Mészáros is of Hungarian ethnicity and practices Christianity.

Mészáros began his acting career in 1989 and has since appeared in numerous plays, films, and TV series, including Rómeó y Julieta, Örök hűség, and Kills on Wheels. Initially auditioning for a class role, his first significant role was as a revolutionary in the play Danton.

Trained at the theater’s acting school, he was mentored by Zoltán Megyeri and Frigyes Bárány, developing his skills in acting and speech techniques. Over time, he gained increasingly larger roles, earning the nickname “Kölyök” at the theater.

In 1993, after being dismissed from the theater due to his lifestyle, Mészáros convinced director István Verebes of his talent, who later became his professional mentor. By the end of the season, Mészáros was brought back to the company.

He quickly became a fan favorite, winning the 2004 Súgó Csiga award and later receiving a small snail in 2006. He also shared the 2006 Operetta-Musical Actor of the Year award with Tamás Földes.
