Donald Adeosun Faison (born June 22, 1974), famous as Donald Faison, is a renowned American actor and comedian. He is best known for his leading role as Dr. Chris Turk in the ABC/NBC comedy-drama Scrubs

He has also appeared in several films, including Remember the Titans, Uptown Girls, Embattled, and Skyline, among others.

Donald Faison began his acting career in early 1989, appearing in several Off-Broadway productions. He made his film debut with a small role in the 1995 film Clueless. The following year, he appeared in another cult classic, the film Waiting to Exhale.

Donald Faison‘s big break came in 2001 when he was cast as Dr. Chris Turk in Scrubs. The show was a critical and commercial success, running for nine seasons.

Donald Adeosun Faison was born on June 22, 1974, in Harlem, New York City, United States. His mother is called Shirley Faison, a talent agent, and his father called, Donald Faison, worked as a building manager. 

His parents got divorced when he was 18 years old. He is the oldest child in his family. He has a younger brother, a musician named Olamide Faison. One of his siblings is Dade Faison.

Donald Faison is of Nigerian descent. His parents were active with the National Black Theatre in Harlem. He attended the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan with his best friend, actor Dash Mihok.

Personal Life

Donald Faison has been in a couple of relationships and has been married twice. In 1997, he met a nursing student named Lisa Askey. They got married in 2001, and in 2005, they annulled their union.

Shortly after the divorce from his first marriage, Donald Faison met and started courting CaCee Cobb, a voice actress. The lovers courted for six years before getting married on December 15, 2012.

Career

Donald Faison first appeared in Folger’s coffee ad in 1989 when he was 15 years old. He played the younger brother of a soldier coming home from war. Peter Jennings was the host of the 1992 ABC News special Prejudice: Answering Children’s Questions, which he did with Malik Yoba.

He also had a small part in the Wesley Snipes movie Sugar Hill. Then, he became well-known for his role as Murray Duvall in the 1995 movie Clueless and the TV show of the same name that ran from 1996 to 1999.

In 1995, Donald Faison also played Tarik, the son of Gloria, played by Loretta Devine, in the movie Waiting to Exhale. He played a part in the movie New Jersey Drive. In Big Fat Liar, he also worked with Frankie Muniz, Paul Giamatti, and Amanda Bynes.

He had a recurring role in Felicity as Tracy. In Remember the TitansDonald Faison played Petey Jones, a running back who changed positions and became a cornerback. He also did the voices for different characters on the MTV animated show Clone High. He had great roles in the TV shows Sister, Sister and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and in the movie Josie and the Pussycats.

In 2005, Donald Faison produced an MTV show Punk’d episode featuring his best friend, Zach Braff. He was also in the music videos for Brandy Norwood‘s Sittin’ Up in My Room, Fall Out Boy‘s Beat It, and Gavin Degraw‘s Chariot.

Since March 2011, Donald Faison‘s face has been in ads for The Sims Medieval. He has a small part in the comedy movie Pitch Perfect, which came out in 2012. His Who Gets the Last Laugh? on TBS lasted only a few episodes in 2013. His hosting gig on the GSN game show Winsanity spanned from 2016 to 2018.



From 2018 to 2020, Donald Faison was the voice of Star Wars Resistance pilot Hype Fazon, a character named after him and made by Dave Filoni. First, Dave Filoni was interested in Donald Faison‘s stop-motion Star Wars cartoons.
