Career

Clifton made his musical theatre debut in 2008 when he partnered with BBC1’s So You Think You Can Dance winner Charlie Bruce in the production of Dirty Dancing The Musical at the Aldwych Theatre in London’s West End.

From January 2008 to June 2013, Clifton and his future wife Karen Hauer were principal dancers of the Burn The Floor Dance Company. They performed with the show during its record-breaking Broadway run, as well as starring at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London’s West End.

Clifton and Hauer also toured with Burn The Floor internationally, performing in Japan, Australia, South Africa, and the United States, and making guest appearances on Dancing with the Stars in the US and So You Think You Can Dance in the Netherlands.

In 2015, Clifton appeared on Series 5 of the TV show Hacker Time. Most recently, in 2023, Clifton took on the role of Aladdin for a six-week pantomime run at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.
