Early Life & Education

Masoja Msiza was born on October 5, 1964, in the KwaThema, Gauteng, South Africa. 

Aged 60, he is a Zulu man from a family of eleven children. From a young age, he loved the arts and performance.

This led him to study drama at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Personal Life

According to multiple reports, Masoja Msiza was married to Innocentia Msiza. Sadly, their marriage hit the rock for a reason he has never known to the public. Their union is blessed with three children, which comprises a son and two daughters.

In an Instagram post, Masoja Msiza revealed how he missed his family; in his words, he said,

“I miss my kids‚ I miss all of those close to me. I see them when I come to Johannesburg‚, like in the December holidays. I am used to that because my relatives raised my siblings and me. I would see them at Christmas time.  

I wanted the cycle to end with me. I have suffered, and I thought it would end with me, but I did not think it would happen to my children‚ that I would go through a series of divorces. It was beyond my control”, he narrated.

Career

Masoja Msiza used to work as a miner after finishing school, but he was sacked along with other miners involved in a strike. Following his dismissal, he chose to follow his ambition of becoming an actor, and his first role was in a play directed by Gibson Kente called “Mfowethu.”

Masoja Msiza started as a poet and then worked as a theater and screen actor, musician, and narrator. He has featured in several notable films, including Kalushi: Solomon Mahlangu’s Story and A Million Colors.

Nevertheless, his best-known character is that of ruthless crime boss Nkunzebomvu “Nkunzi” Mhlongo on South Africa’s most popular television show, Uzalo.

 Scandal!, Shreads and Dreams, Rhythm City, Intersexions, Sokhulu & Partners, and Making Cents with the Sitholes are some of his TV appearances.
