Rajiv Kapoor was born on August 25, 1962, in Chembur, Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India.

He was the youngest son of the legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor. Belonging to the esteemed Kapoor family, he had two elder brothers, Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor, and two sisters, Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain.

Career

Rajiv Kapoor began his acting career with a supporting role in Ek Jaan Hain Hum (1983), marking his entry into Bollywood.

His breakthrough came with Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985), his father Raj Kapoor’s final directorial venture, where he played the lead opposite Mandakini.

The film was a massive commercial success and remains one of his most iconic works, though it also stirred controversy due to its bold themes.
