Ralph George Macchio Jr. (born 4 November 1961), also known as Ralph Macchio, is a marketable actor from the United States. He gained notoriety for his role as Daniel LaRusso in The Karate Kid television series.

Ralph George Macchio Jr. was conceived on November 4, 1961, in New York City by ranch owners Ralph Macchio Sr. and Rosalie Macchio. He has a brother named Steven Macchio.
His mother, Rosalie Macchio, is of Italian ancestry, while his father, Ralph Macchio Sr., is partially Greek and partially Italian. His roots are in Naples.
In 1979, Ralph Macchio received his high school diploma certificate from Half Hollow Hills West.
Career
Ralph Macchio‘s first jobs were as a spokesperson for Dr. Pepper and Bubble Yum. He made his acting debut in the 1980 film Up in the Academy, and in the television series Eight is Enough, he played the character of Jeremy Andretti.
He portrayed Johnny Cade in the 1983 film adaptation of S. E. Hinton‘s book of the same name, The Outsiders. Ralph Macchio rose to stardom when he was chosen to play Daniel LaRusso in the 1984 film The Karate Kid. In The Karate Kid II and The Karate Kid III sequels, he played the same character again.
For the following several years, his career had a slump. Still, he reclaimed it in 1992 when he played William Gambini, the first important adult role of his entire career, in the smash comedy My Cousin Vinny. Ralph Macchio portrayed a puzzled Chris in the independent movie Naked in New York from 1993. He portrayed J. Pierrepont Finch, the show’s protagonist, in the 1996 revival of the 1962 musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
