Early Life And Education

Sidharth Malhotra is an Indian actor who was born on January 16, 1985, in Delhi, India. He is the son of Sunil Malhotra, a former captain in the Merchant Navy, and Rimma Malhotra, a homemaker. Malhotra has one sibling, Harshad Malhotra.

Malhotra was educated at Don Bosco School in Alaknanda, New Delhi, and Naval Public School in Delhi. He then graduated from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College in Delhi. At the age of 18, he began his career in modeling. Sidharth Malhotra is of Punjabi Hindu ethnicity and practices Hinduism as his religion.

Career

Sidharth Malhotra began his career as a fashion model but left it to pursue acting. He worked as an assistant director to Karan Johar on the 2010 film My Name Is Khan, gaining valuable experience behind the scenes. Malhotra’s first lead role came in 2012 when he starred in Johar’s teen drama Student of the Year, marking his official film debut.

Following the success of Student of the Year, Malhotra went on to appear in a string of commercially successful films. These included the romantic comedy Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), the thriller Ek Villain (2014), and the drama Kapoor & Sons (2016). His performances in these films helped establish him as a rising star in Bollywood.

However, Malhotra also experienced some setbacks in his career. Films like the 2017 romantic comedy Baar Baar Dekho and the 2017 action comedy A Gentleman were box office disappointments.
