Early Life
Angelica Locsin Colmenares was born to Angelo and Emma Colmenares on April 23, 1985, in Santa Maria, Bulacan.
Locsin’s father was a swimmer who won a bronze medal in the 4200-meter freestyle relay for the Philippine team at the 1954 Asian Games in Manila.
Ella and Angelo are her two younger siblings. Locsin hesitates to disclose her family history publicly; she was alienated from her mother until 2007 and had maternal ties to an aristocratic family in Marawi, Lanao del Sur.

Angel Locsin was found by a talent scout in a shopping mall and requested to test for various advertisements as part of ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Batch 9.

She later became a contract star of the GMA Artist Center and was featured in the second season of the teen-oriented series, ‘Click,’ and in ‘Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw.’ She worked with GMA until early 2007.
She began starring as Alwina in ‘Mulawin,’ a fantasy-themed TV series that was a major success and got high ratings until its conclusion in March 2005.
