Emem Inwang was born to Dr. Mbuotidem Udonquak, a Chief Consultant Anesthesiologist at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, and Mrs. Udonquak on September 8, 1992. She has an elder sister, Inemesit Okonkwo Udonquak, and a younger brother, Etiini Udonquak.
Emem pursued her education in Uyo, obtaining her First School Leaving Certificate and Senior Secondary School Certificate. She furthered her studies at the University of Uyo, earning a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry.
Personal Life
Emem married Nigerian movie director and producer Moses Inwang on April 5, 2014. The couple welcomed their first son, Eden, on August 23, 2015, and their second son, Jordan, on October 15, 2017.
After nearly a decade together, Emem and Moses announced their separation in January 2024, stating the decision was made after careful reflection to pursue individual happiness and growth.
Career
Emem‘s career gained momentum when she was crowned the 2011/2012 Calabar Carnival Queen, a title that elevated her public profile. This achievement led to her appointment as Calabar’s Tourism Ambassador and spokesperson for Mothers Against Child Abandonment, an initiative by the former First Lady of Cross River State, Obioma Liyel-Imoke.
