Tao Shao Yin (born September 22, 1992), known professionally as Julie Tan, is a Malaysian-born Singaporean actress. She forayed into the entertainment industry in 2008 and has gone on to star in several series and dramas.
She got her first lead role in 2013 in a film titled 96°C Café. The same year, she got another lead role in a film titled That Girl In Pinafore.

Julie Tan, also known by her birth name Tao Shao Yin, was born on September 22nd, 1992, in Penang, Malaysia. She relocated to Singapore from Malaysia at a tender age.

Julie Tan made her acting debut as an intellectually disabled teenager in the 2008 film titled The Promise. She was also the first runner-up in The New Paper’s New Face. She appeared on TV shows in 2010, such as The Illusionist, No Limits, and New Beginnings.
She turned down the opportunity to join the K-pop girl group called Skarf after an audition for Alpha Entertainment in 2011. She played a leading role in the television dramas A Tale of Two Cities and A Song to Remember.
Julie Tan appeared in the films Judgement Day and That Girl in Pinafore in 2013. She was selected to host the 21 February 2014 A Date with K-pop Stars premiere, where she visited South Korea and socialized with celebrities.
