Tulisa began her music career when she joined forces with her cousin Dappy and friend Fazer to form the hip-hop group N-Dubz. Dappy and Fazer had already started rapping together, but they wanted to add a female voice to the group, which was initially called the Lickle Rinsers Crew.
They invited Tulisa to join, and the group released successful singles like “Bad Man Riddim” and “Life Is Getting Sicker by the Day” on pirate radio stations.
After their success as the Lickle Rinsers Crew, the group changed its name to NW1, named after the area they were from in London. In 2005, they released their first official music video for the track “Everyday Of My Life,” which received airplay on Channel U.

In 2006, N-Dubz released their first mainstream single, “I Swear,” which gained them wider recognition. They followed this up in 2007 with the self-released single “Feva Las Vegas,” which reached number 57 on the UK charts.
Over the next few years, N-Dubz achieved multiple top 10 hits in the UK with songs like “I Need You,” “Papa Can You Hear Me?,” and “Best Behaviour.”
