Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande, better known and addressed by his stage name, 9ice, is currently at the age of 43 and was born on January 17, 1980, in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Nigeria.
He is the only child of his parents, Taiwo Akande, a carpenter, and Abigail Akande, a trader. He grew up in the Bariga area of Lagos, where he was exposed to different genres of music, such as fuji, juju, highlife and afrobeat.
He attended Abule Okuta Primary School and C.M.S. Grammar School, where his interest in singing and writing songs grew.
He later enrolled at the Lagos State University to study law but dropped out after two years to pursue his music career.

Career
9ice started his music career in the 1990s as a member of the group Mysterious Boys, along with his friends. He later joined another group called Abinibi, where he met producer ID Cabasa, who helped him record his first demo.
He released his debut single, “Little Money”, in 2000, which gained him some recognition in the underground scene.
He then signed a deal with Edge Records, a subsidiary of Alapomeji Records, and released his debut album, Certificate, in 2007. The album featured songs like “Ganja Man”, “Make Dem Talk”, and “Music Daddy”.
