Early Life And Education.

Anang Hermansyah was born on March 18, 1969, in Jember Regency, Indonesia. He was raised by his parents, Abdul Choliq Wijaya and Anissa Choliq, and grew up with one sibling, Moch. Agus Burhansyah. He follows the Islamic faith, and his ethnicity is unknown.

Anang attended SD Jember Kidul Elementary School in 1977, followed by SMP Negeri 1 Jember Middle School in 1983. In 1986, he attended SMA Negeri 4 Surabaya high school.

During high school, Anang joined a band in Jember, East Java, but it wasn’t until he attended the Islamic University of Bandung that he became serious about music and joined Doel Sumbang’s studio.

Later, Anang joined the band Kidnap Katrina in Jakarta after getting to know Pay Siburian, a BIP guitarist who played for Slank.

Through Pay, Anang joined the Gang Potlot social circle and joined the group Kidnap Katrina, founded by Massto (Bimbim Slank’s sister) and Koko (Kaka Slank’s sister). With Kidnap Katrina, Anang released a self-titled album in 1993 featuring his popular hit “Biru.”

After leaving the band Kidnap Katrina, Anang Hermansyah has had a successful solo career. He has released multiple albums, including Letlah, Lepas, and Melayang. 2009 after his divorce from Krisdayanti, he released the album Separuh Jiwaku Pergi (Half of My Soul Go).
