Early Life
Bahati, the creative musician, was born on the 22nd of December 1994. The talented man hails from the Kamba community of Kenya.
With his government name being Kelvin Kioko, he became a renowned figure with Bahati. The name Bahati is an African name of the Swahili language which also means Good Luck.
Sadly, he is an orphan whose mother, Lucy Mueni, died of an unknown illness when he was only seven. After a few months after his mother’s demise, his father went ahead marrying another woman.
A few years after losing his father to the hand of death, he sought shelter from ABC Orphanage in Mathare slums.
Education
Bahati sat for a high school leaving certificate in Kenya KCSE in 2011 and made a C+. He studied at Nakeel School in Kajiado. He also attended St. Teresa Boys High School at Eastleigh – Nairobi.
Bahati further bagged a master’s degree in Commerce from the esteemed University of Wales, Cardiff, in the United Kingdom.
Career
While in High School, Bahati went on self-discovery, realizing he was gifted with voice and talent for songwriting. To further his discovered gift, he nurtured his sound and even participated in musical-related activities at school. Every creative needs backup resources to reach their peak, which he knew from the onset.
So, to make earns meet and also sell his sound to the global space, he began making music professionally. He recorded a couple of tracks, attended some musical shows, and met with many people, including producers, songwriters, and musicians, to further gain knowledge in his chosen part.
