Early Life & Education

Daddy Lumba, who turned 59 in 2023, was born on September 29, 1964, in a village called Nsuta Amangoase in the Sekyere Central District, near Mampong, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

He was the only child of his parents, who were both teachers. His father, Owoahene Kwadwo Fosuh, died when Lumba was only a child, leaving him under the care of his mother, Comfort Gyamfi, popularly known as Ama Saah.

She was also a teacher and a devout Christian who instilled in Lumba a love for gospel music. She died in 2001 in Kumasi, which was a devastating blow to Lumba as she was everything to him.

In addition to being the only one of his parents, he has a half-brother named Ernest “Owoahene” Nana Acheampong from his father’s side.

Lumba attended Juaben Senior High School from 1983 to 1985, where he led the school choir. He formed his first musical group, Lumba Brothers, with his friends Yaw and Kwabena and his girlfriend, Theresa Abebrese.

Unfortunately, Anokye Supremo died in 2019 from a brain tumour.
