Kim Zolciak-Biermann was born on May 19, 1978, in Pensacola, Florida, United Kingdom. She was born and raised by her parents, Karen Zolciak and Joe Zolciak. She had a brother named Michael Zolciak.

She attended East Catholic High School in Manchester, Connecticut, but left after her first year. She then studied nursing at the University of Connecticut. Her ethnicity is mixed—she is Polish and Italian—and she practices Christianity as her religion.
