Early Life & Education

Laycon, a Baluwen, Odeda, Ogun State native, was born on November 8, 1993, in the bustling city of Lagos, Nigeria. 

His upbringing was overseen by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Agbeleshebioba, who played a pivotal role in shaping him into the person he is today. Growing up, Laycon enjoyed the company of his two siblings, Abayomi Agbeleshebioba and Alice Agbeleshebioba, as they embarked on numerous adventures together during their childhood.

During his educational journey, Laycon attended Lagos State Model College, Merian, located in Lagos, Nigeria, from 2003 to 2009. Later, in 2012, he was granted admission to the prestigious University of Lagos to pursue a degree in philosophy. 

Showing dedication and hard work throughout his academic tenure, he completed his studies and proudly graduated in 2016 with an impressive second-class upper-degree classification. In 2023, Laycon graduated with a Master’s Degree in Internation Relations from the University of Portsmouth.

Laycon began his professional voyage as the devoted personal aide to the esteemed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Latjum Global Nigeria Limited. After completing his academic pursuits, he ventured into the world of specialized sales and business development at Bestman Gaming in the bustling precinct of Ikoyi, Lagos.

In 2019, fate intertwined with his musical aspirations when he inked a significant deal with the renowned Fierce Nation record label under the guiding hand of Olugbenga Jackson. February 21, 2019, became an unforgettable date as Laycon unleashed his creative brilliance in a collaborative marvel titled Fierce, featuring the enchanting artistry of Chinko Ekun and Reminisce. This melodious gem found its rightful place within the intriguing tapestry of his second EP, the enigmatic Who Is Laycon?

A crescendo of excitement enveloped the air as fans eagerly anticipated the ethereal release of his single, the enigmatically titled Senseless, which graced the auditory senses on August 28, 2020.

In an enthralling twist, the mesmerizing DJ Neptune conjured a celestial remix of the famed anthem, Nobody featuring Mr Eazi and Joeboy, in October 2020. Laycon etched his lyrical brilliance into the soundscape with magnetic allure, elevating the Nobody iCONs Remix to captivating heights.

After getting to know Erica Nlewedim better, Laycon started developing romantic feelings for her. He couldn’t resist his growing desire to have a relationship with her, so he picked up the courage to confess his emotions. 

However, Laycon faced heartbreak as Erica Nlewedim rejected his advances and revealed she already had strong feelings for another housemate, Kiddwaya. As if Laycon‘s challenge wasn’t enough, Kiddwaya happened to be Terry Waya‘s son, adding more complexity to the situation.
