Simbiatu Simbi Abisola Abiola Ajikawo (born February 23, 1994), better addressed as Little Simz, is a gifted British rapper, singer, songwriter, and actress with Nigeriann ancestry.
Her first three albums, A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons (2015), Stillness in Wonderland (2016), and Grey Area (2019), all of which were independently released, helped her gain notoriety. Grey Area was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and won the prizes for Best Album at the Ivor Novello Awards and the NME Awards.
Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, Little Simz‘s fourth album, was widely praised by critics and was named the greatest album of 2021 by various magazines. She also won the Libera Award for Best Hip-Hop/Rap Record and the 2022 Brit Award for Best New Artist, thanks to it.

Early Life & Education
Little Simz was born to Nigerian parents in London’s Islington on February 23, 1994. Born to Mr. & Mrs. Ajikawo, she has three siblings.
She and her two older sisters were raised on a council estate. During her childhood, her mother also looked after foster children. She is of Yoruba descent.
Little Simz attended St. Mary’s Youth Club in Upper Street, Islington, along with pop artists Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke after graduating from London’s Highbury Fields School, where she had previously studied.
Later, Little Simz attended Westminster Kingsway College and The University of West London, where she continued her studies and began a career in music.
Career
Little Simz‘s acting career got its start in 2010 with the roles of Vicky in the BBC children’s program Spirit Warriors and Meleka in the E4 television program Youngers. She served as the narrator for Afrofuturism‘s television program and portrayed Shelley in Top Boy‘s third season on Netflix, which debuted in the fall of 2019. She sang her song Venom in a nightclub while making an appearance as herself in the Sony/Marvel movie Venom – Let There Be Carnage.
She calls her music experimental and rap. She is closely associated with the grime genre but also draws inspiration from jazzy R&B, reggae, blues, and synth-rock.
Little Simz has performed with artists like Kano, Ms. Dynamite, Tinie Tempah, and Estelle.
Additionally, she participated in the Royal Albert Hall’s BBC 1Xtra Prom 2015 with a full orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley. She sings the song Leave It As That on the soundtrack for the movie Leave to Remain. She spoke about her appearance at the Hackney Weekend on BBC Radio 1Xtra beginning of 2013.

She was the vocalist for the song Garage Palace, which appears on the Super Deluxe edition of the band Gorillaz‘s album Humanz, and she played as the opening act for Gorillaz during their Humanz Tour in 2017.
Little Simz has refrained from joining a label, independently releasing her music through Age 101 records. She and her label AGE 101 struck a global agreement with AWAL Recordings on September 6th, 2018, following AWAL’s distribution of her debut album, A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons, in 2015. It was extended to June 18, 2020.
Little Simz released her studio album in 2019 to acclaim, and it was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and the IMPALA’s European Independent Album of the Year Award (2019).
