Early Life And Education

Oliver Dragojević was born on December 7, 1947, in Split, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia, to Marko Dragojević (1908–1991) and Kata Dragojević (1907–1994), who were originally from Vela Luka on the island of Korčula. Marko worked at the Port Authority, while Kata was employed as a cleaner.

Tragically, the couple lost three daughters during World War II. Oliver was their fifth child, born shortly after the family returned from a refugee camp in Egypt. He had an older brother, Aljoša (1946–2011).
