Rap Goddess was born in Niagara County West Coast Medical Center in the United States and is an American citizen by birth. She was born to Nigerian parents who had emigrated to the United States. She arrived in the world on September 30th to the family of Mr. James Ochigbo Ajogwu and Mrs. Rose Agbo, and she also holds Nigerian citizenship.

Days after her birth, Rap Goddess‘ parents registered her birth with the name Maureen James Ochigbo Ajogwu. She spent her childhood and teenage years residing with her family in one of the Metropolitan cities in the United States. Although born in the USA and raised in Nigeria, Rap Goddess traces her roots to the middle belt central geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Career

From high school, Rap Goddess harboured dreams of becoming a music artist. Her love for music was sparked in childhood, inspired by leading Hip-Hop and Gospel artists of the time. By her teenage years, she had started writing her own gospel songs and would perform her renditions of popular gospel tracks for her siblings. Rap Goddess began her musical journey in 2009, dedicating her free time to writing gospel songs in her bedroom and recording a few as an indie gospel artist.

As she evolved creatively, Rap Goddess transitioned from gospel to Hip Hop in 2011, marking the start of her career as a rapper. She has since honed her skills through underground rap battles and studio sessions. She frequently visits local studios and collaborates with producers and A&Rs to perfect her craft. Over the years, she has released several mixtapes, building a loyal fanbase within her community.

After much anticipation, Rap Goddess released her debut album, Big Motion, on April 14th, 2024. This 7-track project has been a massive hit in the Hip-Hop scene, achieving impressive streaming numbers and gaining extensive airplay across radio stations in North America, Europe, and Africa. The album has topped several local music charts worldwide, especially in Nigeria. Big Motion‘s success has significantly boosted her popularity in the African Hip-Hop industry, earning her the title of leading female rapper by music critics.

The standout tracks on Big Motion include “Holla,” “Lovesick,” “D Koko,” “What’s The Time,” “I Love My Life,” “Motiwa Online,” and “Have Paid All My Dues.” She collaborated with top producers Pennywipe, Pappisman, Limrixn, and HB, with Pappisman and HB producing two tracks. Pappisman also mixed and mastered all the songs on the project.
