He is of Eritrean descent who is famously known for his hit song, Stay down.

Early Life

Saif Musaad Safe was born in Abu Dhabi, on the 30th of January, 1997 in United Arab Emirates, by Eritrean parents.

His family migrated from Eritrea to Toronto, Canada, when he was only two months old.

He grew up in the neighborhood of The Esplanade in eastern downtown Toronto, a town where he had his primary and high school education before venturing into the music industry.

Since he was young, he has been showing the inclination to be a singer by holding sticks with his hands and mimicking some popular singers then.

Education

Safe had his basic and post-basic education in Toronto, and it was when he was in grade 10, he started writing songs and further developed his talent.

Career

Safe began writing and recording during his high school years, and he subsequently established himself with the groups 878 (aka Halal Gang) and 176 and later became a member of a local music scene after he crossed paths with Drake manager, Oliver El-Khatib and landed a job at the flagship shop of Drake‘s OVO brand.

SAFE broke through in 2015 on his own; however, once he started to rack up millions of Soundcloud streams with “Feel.”

Later in the year, that song “Feel” garnered over 10 million streams across different chanting platforms.

In May 2019, Safe released his debut studio album Stay on RCA Records. It contains 12 tracks that were characterized by cool R&B with elements of dancehall and afrobeat. QUIN and Playboi Carti were the only featured artists.
