Throughout the 1980s, Cutugno continued to compose hit songs for numerous artists, including Miguel Bosé, Adriano Celentano, Luis Miguel, Fausto Leali, and Ricchi e Poveri, among others. He also had a successful career as a television presenter, co-hosting the popular Sunday show Domenica in starting from 1987.
Cutugno‘s crowning achievement came in 1990, when he represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in Zagreb and won with his original composition Insieme: 1992, a ballad that celebrated European political integration and the establishment of the European Union. At the age of 46 years and 302 days, Cutugno became the oldest winner of the contest to date, a record that stood until 2000.
