Early Life And Education

Željko Joksimović was born on April 20, 1972, in Belgrade, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia. He is the son of Branislav and Vesna Joksimović and has two siblings, Aleksandar and Sasa Joksimović.

Joksimović pursued his education at the University of Belgrade, where he studied music and graduated as one of the top students. He is of Serbian ethnicity, though his religious beliefs are not publicly known.

Željko Joksimović began his music career at the age of 12, winning the prestigious title of First Accordion of Europe at a music festival in Paris. He graduated from the University of Belgrade with a music degree and began his professional career in 1997.

Joksimović’s career flourished with international collaborations, including his duet with Austrian singer Tamee Harrison on “I Live My Life For You” in 2005. In 2007, he released a greatest hits compilation titled Platinum Collection and performed a memorable concert in the Belgrade Arena, which was later released on DVD. The following year, he composed “Oro” for Jelena Tomašević in the Beovizija 2008 contest.
