Jeremiah Richard Bassey (born April 10, 2002) is a fast-rising Nigerian comedian, content creator, and prankster. He is popularly known by the moniker Nhasty Jee.

He came to the limelight in Nigeria’s content creation space in 2022 after his videos went viral on Instagram.

Early Life

Nhasty Jee was born Jeremiah Richard Bassey on the 10th of April 2002. He was birthed into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Bassey. He was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Although he spent his formative years residing in the South-South, he is originally from Akwa Ibom State. His father is an indigene of the oil-rich Akwa-Ibom State. 

Nhasty Jee was raised in a Christian household, where his parents ensured that they taught him good moral values. As a young boy, he regularly attended church with his family. He is from a close-knit family of five. He has two siblings, a brother named Kingsley Bassey and a sister named Funmilayo Bassey. 

Nhasty Jee comes from a humble background and was raised in a middle-class neighborhood in Port Harcourt. He speaks English and Pidgin fluently. He got the nickname Nhasty Jee during his penultimate year in high school.   

Education

Nhasty Jee underwent his elementary and high school education at leading private-owned schools in Port Harcourt. 

Nhasty Jee graduated from secondary school in 2018 with good grades in his SSCE. He is currently an undergraduate at a prestigious university in the South-South geopolitical zone. 

Career

It was while in secondary school that Nhasty Jee discovered his comedic talent. As a high school student, he thrilled his classmates with funny jokes; his friends in the neighborhood weren’t also spared. He was great at coming up with funny stories and rib-cracking imitations. During this period, he was a member of the Drama Society of his school and was often cast to play lead or supporting roles in stage plays. 

In 2022, Nhasty Jee decided to launch his professional comedy career. Encouraged by the success of other social media skit maters and content creators, he kickstarted his content creation career on the 24th of March, 2022. He began by focusing on Instagram and TikTok. He started to shoot videos and upload them on his social media pages.
