Jahangir Tareen was born on 4 July 1953 in Cumilla, Bangladesh. He was raised by his father, Allah Nawaz Tareen, and his mother, whose name has not been disclosed to the media. He grew up with one sibling, Alamgir Khan Tareen, who was also a Pakistani businessman.

Coming from a Pakistani background, Tareen follows the Islamic religion. He received a quality education, graduating from Forman Christian College in Lahore in 1971 and earning an MBA degree from the University of North Carolina, USA, in 1974.

Additionally, Tareen’s JK Group has interests in milk production, processing and sales, power generation, production and sales of fruits and agricultural produce, granite mining, PepsiCo Multan franchise, and the PSL Multan Sultans franchise. Throughout his career, Tareen served as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan on three occasions between 2002 and 2017.

Jahangir Tareen was a prominent figure in Pakistani politics, known for his career as a lecturer and banker before entering the political arena. He served in various government positions, including as Federal Minister for Industries and Production, and as a special adviser to the Chief Minister of Punjab.
