In 1971, he founded the African Development Consulting Group (ADCG) after being beckoned by his mother to return to Nigeria. Being a master of Econometrics and Industrial Engineering, he swiftly collaborated with corporate giants like Nestle and Pfizer and subsequently received an offer to research the Co-operative and Commerce Bank from the then Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Clement Isong.

With his sharp business acumen, he was appointed Chairman of Progress Bank in 1985. Seeking to cater to the banking needs of traders in South-Eastern Nigeria, Pascal Dozie applied for a license, leading to Diamond Bank’s creation. The bank’s capital was ₦10million, with 21 interested shareholders. His vision and hard work helped Diamond Bank to rise to the top in the Nigerian banking industry.

In 1990, he successfully fulfilled the Central Bank of Nigeria’s regulatory requirements, enabling him to launch a standard bank. The following year, Pascal Dozie launched Diamond Bank and became its CEO from 1991 until his son Uzoma Dozie took over in 2006. Today, Diamond Bank is renowned as one of Nigeria’s top financial institutions.
