Early Life

At eight, Garritsen, also known as Martin Garrix (stylized form Mar+in Garri) and GRX, started playing the guitar. Garritsen was heavily motivated by fellow Dutch DJ Tiesto and his 2004 Athens Olympics opening ceremony performance. Early Life

Garrix was originally known by birth name on May 14, 1996, in Amstelveen. He is the son of Gerard and Karin Garritsen. His only sibling is Laura, his younger sister.

He developed an early musical interest and began playing the guitar at eight.
