Gavin Williamson, the ex-Education Secretary of the UK, was born on June 25, 1976, in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Raised in a working-class household, his father Ray served in local government while his mother Beverly worked in a job center.

 Interestingly, despite his family’s affiliation with the Labour Party, Gavin was inclined to conservative politics during his formative years.
