Meet Pentagon Members: Exploring the Ages of the Boy Band

Pentagon is a celebrated South Korean boy band formed by Cube Entertainment, debuting on October 10, 2016, through the Mnet survival show Pentagon Maker.

Originally consisting of ten members, the group now has nine members following the departure of E’Dawn in November 2018. The current members are Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok.

Jinho

• Full Name: Jo Jin-ho  
• Birthdate: April 17, 1992  
• Age: 32 years old  
• Notes: Jinho is the oldest member of the Pentagon and the main vocalist. He debuted with SM Entertainment‘s project group SM the Ballad in 2010 before joining Cube Entertainment.

Hui

• Full Name: Lee Hoe-taek  
• Birthdate: August 28, 1993  
• Age: 31 years old  
• Notes: Hui is the Pentagon‘s leader, main vocalist, and lead dancer. He is also a renowned producer and songwriter, having composed hits for Pentagon and other artists.

Hongseok

• Full Name: Yang Hong-seok  
• Birthdate: April 17, 1994  
• Age: 30 years old  
• Notes: Hongseok is a lead vocalist with acting experience. He spent significant time abroad, living in the U.S., Singapore, and China before debuting with the Pentagon.

Shinwon

• Full Name: Kim Hyo-jong

• Notes: E’Dawn was a main rapper and lead dancer in the Pentagon until he departed from the group and Cube Entertainment on November 14, 2018, following a publicized relationship with singer Hyuna.

  • Jinho completed his military service, enlisting on May 11, 2020, and being discharged on November 14, 2021.
  • Hui enlisted on February 18, 2021, and was discharged on November 17, 2022.
  • Other members born before 1997 (Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, and Yan An) may have either completed or are nearing their enlistment deadlines, depending on their individual circumstances and any deferments.
• Contract Status: On October 9, 2023, Cube Entertainment announced that Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok did not renew their contracts with the agency, while Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, and Shinwon renewed theirs. However, all nine members remain part of the Pentagon, and the group has not disbanded.
