Early Life and Education

Persia White, currently 52 years old, was born on October 25, 1972. White was raised in Nassau, Bahamas, and grew up as one of four children to an Irish-American mother and a Bahamian father.

Her early years were spent in the Bahamas, but her father’s car accident left him paralyzed when she was three, leading him to seek better medical care in Miami.

Two years later, White‘s mother moved with her children to South Florida, but they did not reunite with White‘s father.

White later became involved in the Miami Coconut Grove Children’s Theater and pursued studies in dance, acting, singing, and painting during her teen years.

After high school, she signed with the Ford Agency and obtained her Screen Actors Guild card before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

White‘s daughter, Mecca Morgan White, was born around 1995. In 2008, White got engaged to singer Saul Williams, whom she had been dating for five years, and they were married later that year.

They first met in 2003 when Williams made a guest appearance on the TV show Girlfriends.

However, in January 2009, White announced on her Myspace blog that they had separated.

After three years of dating, White married her fellow actor from Vampire Diaries, Joseph Morgan, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on July 5, 2014.

Following their marriage, he legally adopted her daughter, and they changed her name to Mecca Morgan White.

Career

White has made appearances in several independent films, such as Red Letters alongside Peter Coyote, and the cult horror film Blood Dolls.

She also had leading roles in TV movies like Operation Sandman with Ron Perlman, and Suddenly with Kirstie Alley.
