Ryan Matthew Serhant was born on July 2, 1984, in Houston, Texas, United States. He was raised by his parents, John Serhant and Ellen Serhant. His father was a Vice Chairman of State Street Global Advisors and advisor to GoldenTree Asset Management. Serhant grew up with his brothers, Jim Serhant and Jack Serhant.

Serhant attended the Pingree School and later Hamilton College, where he majored in English literature and theater. During his time at Hamilton College, he was also a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

Career

Ryan Serhant’s career is multifaceted, encompassing real estate, television, and authorship. In 2008, Serhant ventured into the New York real estate market, earning just $9,000 in his first year. However, after a year-long pursuit, he closed his first major sale of $8.5 million. By 2012, The Real Deal ranked Serhant #15 out of the 100 most successful agents in New York.

In 2010, Serhant auditioned for and was cast on the reality show Million Dollar Listing New York, which followed him, Fredrik Eklund, and Michael Lorber across some of New York’s most exclusive real estate.
