Daniel Keem, popularly known as Keemstar, was born on March 8, 1982, in Buffalo, New York, United States. She is the eldest in a family of three. He has a younger brother and sister.

Keemstar is multi-racial; he has Italian and Greek ancestry. His parents taught him the value of hard work at a young age. They instilled in him the importance of doing whatever it takes to reach his goals. These values have served him well throughout his life and helped him achieve success professionally and personally.

In August 2021, Keemstar broke up with his girlfriend Christine Youngman. Their age difference of 19 years, with Keemstar being 39 and Youngman being 20, caused a lot of controversies. He said that his “enemies” and “ugly women” were the only ones who had a problem with the age difference. He has a daughter named Mia Keem.

In January 2019, YouTuber Jake Paul accused Keemstar of body-shaming Jake Paul‘s then-girlfriend Erika Costell, after Keemstar made a tweet comparing Erika Costell‘s body to that of YouTuber Eugenia Cooney, who has an eating disorder.

In 2010, Keemstar encouraged his viewers to post “Alex is a stupid nigger” in the stream’s chat following an altercation with a moderator named Alex on the website BattleCam.com; he later apologized for using the racist slur.

Career

Keemstar‘s first appearance on YouTube was in a Halo 3 video from January 2009, where he was caught trash-talking in the online multiplayer voice chat. In September 2012, he started to use the Twitter trend #DramaAlert.

In June 2014, after numerous terminations, he registered the current channel DramaAlert.

Keemstar often gives his thoughts on the things he writes about. In 2010, he spread a lie about Lindsay Lohan‘s death that went viral on Twitter all over the world.

In July 2010, Keemstar became the most subscribed person on blogTV. In November 2010, he was swatted and described as a hostage situation.

In February 2011, Keemstar advertised a game called FortressCraft that was going to be on Xbox Live. He got in touch with the independent developer and worked out a deal with them so that he could own part of the game. After that, 2 million copies were sold.

In March 2011, Keemstar and Scott Kinmartin started WebStar Records, but the project didn’t last long. In July 2011, he and Alki David set up a tournament called the Billionaire’s Challenge, in which people competed for prizes. The first was a huge success, and many well-known YouTubers participated. They arranged a second one. 

During the draft, Alki David said they would air a video about assisted suicide. This caused a lot of controversies, and in the end, a lot of the YouTubers dropped out. It turned out to be a joke in the end. Even so, the second show went on.

In January 2012, Keemstar made a website called LiveaRoo for live-streaming video games. He and YouTuber ONLYUSEmeBLADE (Brian Risso) created the Bad Kid Show podcast in June 2012. The show began as audio podcasts, but when ONLYUSEmeBLADE moved across the country to New York in September, and Scott Kinmartin moved there in August, they started making IRL video shows.
