In August 2021, Keemstar broke up with his girlfriend Christine Youngman. Their age difference of 19 years, with Keemstar being 39 and Youngman being 20, caused a lot of controversies. Keemstar‘s first appearance on YouTube was in a Halo 3 video from January 2009, where he was caught trash-talking in the online multiplayer voice chat. In September 2012, he started to use the Twitter trend #DramaAlert.

Keemstar often gives his thoughts on the things he writes about. In 2010, he spread a lie about Lindsay Lohan‘s death that went viral on Twitter all over the world.

In February 2011, Keemstar advertised a game called FortressCraft that was going to be on Xbox Live. He got in touch with the independent developer and worked out a deal with them so that he could own part of the game. After that, 2 million copies were sold.
In March 2011, Keemstar and Scott Kinmartin started WebStar Records, but the project didn’t last long. In July 2011, he and Alki David set up a tournament called the Billionaire’s Challenge, in which people competed for prizes. The first was a huge success, and many well-known YouTubers participated. During the draft, Alki David said they would air a video about assisted suicide. This caused a lot of controversies, and in the end, a lot of the YouTubers dropped out. It turned out to be a joke in the end. Even so, the second show went on.
