In 2005, he embarked on a journey that would shape his career as a combat sports athlete. With an uncompromising passion for kickboxing, he started to train with a sense of discipline and determination that would soon lead him to become a champion in his field.

Early Life

Emory Andrew Tate III was born on the 1st of December 1986 to an African-American father and a British mother. He was birthed in Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. His father, Emory Tate, was an international chess master, while his mother, Eileen Tate, worked as a catering assistant. 

He is the first child of his parents and has a younger brother named Trishan Tate and a sister named Janine TateAndrew Tate spent his early years residing in Chicago, Illinois, and Goshen, Indiana, because his family moved cities a few times. 

Andrew Tate‘s parents’ marriage hit the rocks during his childhood, and after the divorce was finalized, he moved to England with his mum and brother. He was raised in the Christian faith by his parents.

Andrew Tate underwent elementary education at leading public-run schools in Chicago and Goshen.

By 2008, the International Sports Kickboxing Association (ISKA) ranked him the seventh-best light heavyweight kickboxer in Britain. In 2009, he earned his first championship when he won the British IKSA Full Contact Cruiserweight Championship in Derby. He was ranked number one in his European division by earning the title. 

In 2011, Andrew Tate secured a major win in his career when he won his first IKSA world title in a rematch against Jean Luc-Benoit through knockout. He had previously fought against Jean Luc-Benoit but lost due to the Judges’ decision. He lost the Enfusion Championship Tournament to Franci Grajs in 2012. In 2013, he earned another IKSA world title in a 12-round match against Vincent Petitjean, making him the world champion in two weight divisions. Before his 2012 to Franci Grajs loss, he had been ranked the second-best light-heavyweight kickboxer in the world and rose to the number one spot after beating Vincent Petitjean.

After securing the world title, Andrew Tate retired as a professional kickboxer. He fought a total of 85 matches in his kickboxing career, winning 76 matches and losing 9. Twenty-three out of his wins were via knockout. He has a total of 3 matches as a mixed martial arts fighter and won two fights and lost one. 

In 2016, Andrew Tate gained popularity in the entertainment industry when he participated in the 17th edition of the Big Brother UK show. During his time on the show, he received public backlash for making homophobic and racist comments on Twitter. The producers removed him from the show six days later as a video surfaced online where he was seen beating a woman with a belt. Although Andrew Tate was raised a Christian, he later became an Atheist. In early 2022, he converted back to Christianity and claimed to be tithing £16,000 monthly to the Romanian Orthodox Church. However, by October 2022, he revealed that he had converted to Islam and was now a practicing Muslim. The news came after a viral video of him praying at a mosque in Dubai.

On the 29th of December 2022, Andrew Tate and his younger brother Trishan Tate, alongside two women, were arrested by the Romanian police. The arrest was made because they were suspected of being involved in human trafficking and forming an organized crime group. Also, one of them is facing a rape allegation (but the identity is unknown due to Romanian law). They are currently under house arrest while the investigation is ongoing. Also, prosecutors are yet to file an indictment.
