Early Life
Andile Gaelesiwe was born on the 13th day of September in 1973.
She was born and raised in the Soweto region of South Africa. Her father is Philemon Mofokeng.
Unfortunately, she was raped and sexually assaulted as a child and it was revealed that the perpetrator was her father. She has not been in contact with him for years. S
he has grown past this incident and created the organization Open Disclosure Foundation for victims of sexual assault.

Career
Andile Gaelesiwe started in the music industry in her early twenties in 2003, she has released several music albums and she signed with BMG records. She joined the YFM radio station in Johannesburg where she trained for a year before becoming a radio host.
Her interest in the non-profit coupled with her love for humanity led her to YFM to initiate a department called YCARES. As the director, she touched on major South African issues in the areas of HIV/Aids, youth development and entrepreneurship, education, and sexual violence.
In 2001, Andile Gaelesiwe was working at YFm when she heard a young woman call in and threaten to commit suicide because she had been sexually abused. This incident was a catalyst for Andile to speak out about her own abuse in the hopes of helping other young people seek treatment.
As a result, She was called upon to anchor the docu-reality show Khumbul’ekhaya, as she fit the description of the values the show seeks to display to viewers including the courage to communicate and the strength to resolve and overcome family problems. She also started a program called Open Disclosure for sexual assault victims to come out and receive help.
Her most recent hosting gig came in 2019, where she was cast as the host of the South African couple’s reality show titled Before I Do, which helps South African couples deal with relationship challenges.
