Russell Lynn Armstrong was born on December 21, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, United States. He is the son of John Ann Armstrong (née Anders) and Louie Lynn “L.L.” Armstrong and has a younger sister named Laurie Ann Armstrong.

Armstrong attended Richardson High School and later graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi with a degree in finance. He is of white ethnicity and practices Christianity as his religion.

Career

Robert Armstrong began his professional career as an attorney. In 1981, he represented Aileen Wuornos, a serial killer, during an armed robbery case. This was Armstrong’s debut and only appearance as an actor when he appeared in the adventure-comedy television film The Ring of the Musketeers in 1992.

Armstrong made subsequent television appearances, including an episode of the A&E criminal justice program American Justice in 1998 and an episode of the A&E documentary series Biography in 2003. In these episodes, he spoke about his representation of Aileen Wuornos.

Outside of his legal work, Armstrong was the founding managing director of Crescent Financial Partners, a private merchant banking firm based in Los Angeles. He also appeared with his wife, Taylor, on the first and second seasons of the Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010 and 2011.
