Early Life
Bishop I Makamu church’s senior pastor grew up in a church. He was recognized as a preacher during his secondary school years, earning him the nickname “Bishop” in high school.
He grew up in the Gauteng town of Katlehong. Having a preacher for a dad didn’t help matters because he was under strain that he didn’t want his children to go through.
People expected him to be ideal as a pastor’s child, but he says, “I was far from perfect.” He wasn’t a drinker or a smoker, and he was devoted to his family. Bishop I Makamu would sometimes refuse to attend church or participate in its activities.
Titus Makamu (father) and Rophinia Makamu (mother) were Israel’s parents. His parents are churchgoers, albeit his father is late. In 2017, he lost his father, who was a pastor.
Education
Though the preacher has a Theology certification, Bishop I Makamu prefers not to discuss it because he believes his skills “come naturally,” he attended Bible school.
He studied at the Bible College of the Christian Family Church International (CFCI).

Bishop I Makamu leads Endless Hope Bible Church. The church has spread across the country and now has over ten branches.

Hloniphile Makamu is Bishop I. Makamu‘s wife. In 2003, he met his wife when dropping off a friend and seeing her standing near the traffic lights.
He was immediately drawn to her and resolved in pursuit of her. The clergyman had to come to a halt and approach her. It was his first time approaching a woman. He followed up with her for approximately a week to catch her attention.
He met her while she was a 19-year-old student reading her nursing course in Joburg’s Ann Latsky Nursing College.
Their marriage took place in 2005, after dating for two years and meeting on the same day. His wife is in her late thirties.
The union of Bishop I. Makamu and his wife, Hloniphile Makamu, is blessed with children. He lives with his family in the south of Johannesburg. Ntwanano Makamu, Ntokozo Makamu, and Ntsumi Makamu are the names of his children.
Bishop I. Makamu and his family reside in a guarded posh development in Johannesburg’s south suburbs. The mansion is a two-story structure with large glass windows. A well-kept garden surrounds the lovely grey house.
