Oriyomi Abdulrahman Hamzat was born on March 5, 1980, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, to Asimiyu Adekunle Hamzat, a journalist with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), and his mother, a homemaker.

Hamzat completed his secondary education at Iroko Community Grammar School before attending Oyo State School of Sciences in Pade. He has a brother, Hon. Musiliu Akinremi, who is a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives.  

He pursued a Diploma in Geology at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and later continued his studies in Mass Communication at the institution’s Eruwa Campus (now Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa).

In 2023, Hamzat furthered his academic achievements by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan.
