Early Life and Education
Akin Alabi was born on March 31, 1977, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, the youngest child of Chief and Chief (Mrs.) Adediran Alabi. He began his education at Command Children School, Ibadan, before attending Federal Government College, Enugu, for his secondary education.
He later earned a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration from The Polytechnic, Ibadan. He went on to obtain a degree in Marketing from the University of Liverpool, UK, and completed a certification in Intellectual Property Strategy at Harvard University, USA.

Akin Alabi is married to Oluwadamilare Alabi, who is also an information marketer. Their marriage is blessed with two children: Oluwalayomi and Ireoluwa Alabi.
A passionate football fan, Alabi supports the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in Ibadan and is a season ticket holder for Manchester United FC.
Career
Akin Alabi began his entrepreneurial journey in 2003, writing and selling books. He expanded into seminars and consulting services, then launched publications such as Income, a business newspaper for small businesses, and World Soccer News, a weekly sports publication.
In 2009, he launched Nairabet, Nigeria’s first online sports betting platform with a fully functional website for deposits, betting, and withdrawals. The platform has grown under the regulation of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, boasting over 1,000 outlets across Nigeria and a headquarters in Lagos.
He also founded Nightlife.ng, an online hub for Nigeria’s nightlife industry, and Over The Top Entertainment, a record label that signed music duo Skuki.
In 2018, Alabi stepped down as CEO of Nairabet to pursue politics. Running under the All Progressives Congress (APC), he secured a seat in the House of Representatives in 2019.
